An artist whose name has begun to spread throughout the underground is Dante Darko's. Thanks to the CWCMF Agency we were able to get in contact with him. We decided a Q&A was best for an artist with so much to say. We will let him tell his own story directly below!
Q: Who is Dante Darko? Your name is making rounds in the underground but what all do you do? A: "Dante Darko is a voice for the people. A beacon of light you could say for those in need of illumination. It sounds a little contradicting since my name is Darko, but the light can only travel through darkness or a light that shines less bright. I try to do it all honestly. I mix and master all of my own tracks. Thats why some of them harness that real raw underground sound that people love, that real shit. I want the boundaries to be dropped for those around us who have too many. Basically, my goal is to speak for the underground, and to actually give them a voice in areas they dont have one. Also I want and do make some crazy fucking music so my people can rage."
Q: What would you say is your best song currently out, and where can it be found for fans and readers to listen?
A: "Probably my '2K19 Freestyle'. I was really feeling myself New Years Eve, and I just kind of jumped in the booth and spazzed out. Finished the final recording at 12:07. Only seven minutes into the new year. Shit was magic. However, for listeners wanting more grit my song, 'Raider Shit', goes up too. You can find both on my soundcloud."
Q: When can we expect new content?
A: "I have a whole tape dropping towards the end of this month or the beginning of next month. I kind of thought my fans deserved more of a discography than I currently have, and the way PR and marketgoes in this industry goes, it is hell to just drop single after single to gain that momentum. Ultimately, it will take more time to build that discography for the true fans. I wanted to do it a little differently because, truth be told, Im not about all that other shit. Im just about music and my people. So, expect a whole project in no more than 30 days, and trust me when I say yall are not expecting whats on it. All I can say is, I wanted to show people what I was capable of on this one."
Q: How have things changed for you since you became a member of the CWCMF Agency?
A: "Things for me have gone uphill and no other direction to be honest. Cain (CWCMF Founder & CEO) has been like a brother to me ever since I met him, and he always has my best interest in mind. I dont really have anybody else like that around me so I cherish our relationship as well as the brand that we work so hard to continue to build. He really is the definition of an entrepreneur, and honestly, I could see him getting covered by some big names like Fader or some shit really soon. I couldnt be happier to be working with anyone else honestly. It aint about the clout and shit, its about what yall can build together because at the end of the day... nobody can take that shit from you!"
Q: Where do you see yourself by the end of 2019?
A: "Honestly, I hope to be a fully established artist with at least one song on the billboards. Its also one of my main goals to use whatever possible traction I get to improve the lives of other people around me and people that cannot provide that change or help for themselves. I want to promote the love of artistry and humanity. Im going to spread all the love I can if it can improve the overall vibrations of the world. Im not going to be too picky about what spot, but I know anything is possible because if I've learned anything these past couple of years, its that anything is possible if you put the required amount of work in. I been working overtime, and I really dont plan on slowing down or stopping. Im in the studio everyday, literally, coming up with new ideas and just creating. Its just a matter of timing on when the public will see said creations, but if I could give any artist advice about their career, It would be to invest in yourself. You cant lose what you put in if you dont put in anything for yourself. Build yourself up, and get that bag. Dont focus on anything but the mission you set for yourself because thats how bags are made. Back to the Billboard thing for one second also. Thats not the most important thing to me, but it has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. As long as I am able to see my team shine and spread love to a bigger crown, than I currently am and will be happy by the end of this year. No cap."
Q: Which would you say is more important: talent or work ethic?
A: "Honestly, I would say both are just as important as the other. I think what makes a great artist what makes a subpar one is a perfect balance of both. I cant respect artists with talent who do not work hard for what they have, and I cant say I dont respect a talentless man or woman working hard for what they have. At the end of the day, this is a field that kind of requires talent at least if you are going to be a creator, and lately I have seen a lot of talentless names making it somewhere because they paid for plays or some other shit. A lot of people are taking advantage of the way the industry is currently built."
Q: What can we expect from the rest of your team this year?
A: "I dont want to speak too much on the things the gang has going on behind the scenes, but I know we have 3 to 4 brands breaking out between the different members of the team. We also going to be doing shows all over the United States, and almost all of us will be dropping new content."
Q: Where will fans be able to see you perform live next?
A: "It will be either Texas or Arizona. We have a couple shows in the works in those areas. More will be announced when the time comes."
Q: When all is said and done, what message do you hope to leave behind?
A: "I hope the message I leave behind is that anything you put your mind to can be done! I want to stand so that the kids that struggle to keep the faith in themselves hear my voice and know Im right behind them. I always will be."
Q: Anything you would like to add before we conclude your Q&A with SA?
A: "Go follow and check out SupportArt. They really here for the people. Also go check out Cain HERE on Twitter. If you were wondering where my music will be dropping... it will be on the soundcloud you can stream directly below."
